The Healers Café

Hi, it's Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) and I want to welcome you to the Healers Cafe. I am so excited to be doing this series of interviews and what I'll be doing is, is asking all kinds of healthcare practitioners, doctors, healers of all types, to really share with all of you their experience, why they became healers, what called them what they think about this being a healer thing. Is it, a thing? Who's really healing in this, what they've experienced from their their interaction with clients and patients and what the takeaways and understanding of what the process of healing is all about and the process of life. So that's the essence of what I'm doing. I'm hoping that this will serve also for patients that have issues and are looking for different ways of approaching it. * De-Registered, revoked & retired after 30+ years of practice. Now resourceful & resolved to share with you all the tools to take care of your health & vitality!

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks with Christine Blanchette from Run With It TV show.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/Christine-Blanchette

Highlights from today's episode include:

Christine Blanchette 03:48

I feel it's my appointment with myself. I don't know. I feel like I know me sounds silly, but I feel like a bird like I'm flying. I got my wings that I'm feeling...I just lose...the mind and body connection. It's just like, I'm in Zen. I'm in sync with my body and everything just feels right after no matter how stressful I feel at the beginning of a run or workout. It just takes me to a better place.

Christine Blanchette 06:24

I think it's making time for yourself. I like to call my appointment with myself...self-care. I think everyone needs to practice self-care whether it's once a day, and I've learned this through interviewing some of the guests on the show, but it's for me, I need to take care of myself in order to take care of others.

Christine Blanchette

But the resistance is still there right. So, it's interesting that, you know, there's some of the things we do without thinking of for which we have no resistance. And yet when it comes to carving out time for self, or to do something that we know, whatever that is, whether it's running or whether it's meditating or whether it's whatever. It's not uncommon to have this resistance where you have to trick yourself.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks with Dr Victoria Abdelnur about Holistic Trauma Therapy.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/Dr-Victoria-Abdelnur

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr Victoria Abdelnur

For me, like, when I was in Germany, I was offered a career in psychiatry, and children's psychiatry, and it was like everything was easy in front of me. The clinics, the works, the internship, I would be earning probably four times what I'm earning right now. But something inside me just couldn't do it. Because I knew that if I did that training, I would have, like, I would be obligated to give certain medications to kids, for example, or to patients and like things I do not agree with, I cannot do it, I just cannot do it.

Dr Victoria Abdelnur 13:08

Like, I felt like an alien since day one in university. I remember I started talking about why don't we work in teams? Like, why don't we have a doctor and a psychologist and a physiotherapist and maybe a shaman, maybe someone that knows about plants all working together to help a patient with their problems, and they're like, you're crazy.

Dr Victoria Abdelnur 24:43

Yes, I agree. It's been, it's being hard and stressful. But at the same time, I think consciousness is expanding so fast right now. I guess we humans have to, you know, pain is the biggest motivator for growth

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks with Dr. John Coleman, ND from Return To Stillness; Naturopathy & Bowen Therapy.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-john-coleman-nd

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr. John Coleman, ND   21:57

And healthcare was self-help and family help and community help with all that support around them with wisdom from people who didn't necessarily go to college but had the life history and background and experience to say this is what worked.

Dr. John Coleman, ND

I go back to saying, yes, all these things, these diseases were caused by the same processes. They're just a set of symptoms. And so, to change my health, I need to change the processes and I need to change my attitude. Me. I have to do it, not someone in a white coat with a bottle of pills, although they can be useful. But I have to make the changes

Dr. John Coleman, ND

But what people's choices are, are their choice. So, it's fine. And many people we know, are very lazy, they don't want to do research. They don't want to know; they don't want to find out. They want to be told what to do. That's fine. That's their choice.

ABOUT DR. JOHN COLEMAN, ND

By August 1995, Dr. John Coleman, ND   was wondering how he could go on living.  Suffering symptoms of stage IV Parkinson’s disease and early-stage Multi-system Atrophy, diagnosed by five medical and complementary practitioners, and severely dissatisfied with the treatment and prognosis he received from western medical practitioners, John decided to pursue other pathways to health and was completely symptom-free by April 1998.

John was co-founder of Very Special Kids in 1984 and founder of the neuro recovery foundation in 2002, conducted sixteen Neuro Recovery Pathways programs in NSW and Melbourne, plus practitioner training around Australia, USA, Germany, Austria and UK.

John is one of Australia’s most experienced naturopaths in treating Neurodegenerative and Autoimmune disorders, plus Lyme disease and co-infections, utilizing a wide variety of strategies to improve health together with specific neuroregenerative strategies plus antimicrobial & detox herbal remedies as required.

John now conducts his Naturopathic Clinic in Lancefield, rural Victoria.  His book, “Rethinking Parkinson’s Disease – the definitive guide to the known causes of Parkinson’s disease and proven reversal strategies”, was released by Hybrid Publishers in 2020. “Shaky Past” autobiography  was released in 2012. He presented at the International Parkinson’s Disease Conference in 2001, two posters at the 1st Tick Borne Diseases Conference in 2013 and two case histories at the 3rd Tick Borne Diseases Conference in 2015.

John received a Tattersall’s Award for work with VSK in 1985 and an ANPA award for Community Education in 2005. He was a finalist in the Pride of Australia Medal in 2007.

Core purpose/passion: Empowering people to find their own way to wellness; finding the fundamental causes of an illness process; changing social attitudes from find a cure to, find out how to get well.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) speaks with CJ Williams about the importance of looking after wildlife and protecting the environment.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/CJ-Williams

Highlights from today's episode include:

CJ Williams

some of the messages in there really brought it home to me about this need, and the lack, if you like, or the lack of education, our children do get in the regular curriculum. To know more about this, and actually, as I've got more into it, I'm actually astounded by not only the lack of knowledge within children, but also adults as well about animal species

CJ Williams

But more than that, I think a lot of them do stress the importance of the work in terms of yeah, nothing is being done about this to educate kids. And, the main point about the whole message is for children to learn about it, whilst they're having fun. So, to play a board game with their family is a positive thing anyway because it gets them off the screens, which there's always too much

CJ Williams

And it is some of that as well, of course, but that really at the end of the day, if one reader, one child can become a zoologist or, or a conservationist, hopefully a marine biologist, as a result of being inspired by reading my stories, then that will be it for me that that I will be satisfied, you know, so, that will have sort of complete the healing process, if you like from someone who has come full circle from being like you said, you know, naturally aware of the importance of nature and the other species and everything surrounding us to go into a different world and then coming back again into recognizing the importance of that.

ABOUT CJ WILLIAMS

CJ Williams is one of six siblings and is a former City of London trader, who was also an independent headhunter in financial markets. He came up with his brand altogether, which he will establish as a recognized player in the educational technology sector. His ultimate aim is to fund a charity called RACE - Raising Awareness in Children of the Environment. As a parent, grandfather and country boy at heart, he is passionate about looking after the countryside and ongoing green issues, to Save The Planet. His inspiration originally came from the likes of Carl Hiaasen, the investigative journalist and hilarious author, the respected conservationist Rachel Carson and, more recently David Wallace-Wells as well as the brilliant Sir David Attenborough, of course. He has three sons by wife Justine: Oliver, Jack and Hugh, and they are grandparents to Louie, Ella and Freddie. He wants to help parents reclaim their children from screens with the launch of his book series and a double-sided, fun and fast family board game with a wildlife and environment protection theme, for two to four players from the age of 4 to 104 called Planet B Race all about animals - their habitat, bodies, diet and threats and good and bad things impacting the environment. He has collaborated with a number of people on the project, including talented illustrators Milli-Jane Pooley and Nadja Vorovich, Jay at developer TJ Technology, Olivia Gibbs at Innovative, Terry Burns and editor Marcy Pusey. CJ would love to hear from people who are interested in becoming trustees of his charity - conservationists and people with previous experience on boards, for example.

Core purpose/passion: My passions of nature and writing enable me to do what I truly love to spread the word.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (Deregistered naturopath with 30+ years of experience in health) speaks with Dr Aimie Apigian regarding Trauma Healing Accelerated.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-aimie-apigian

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr. Aimie Apigian

And to bring that point home, I really also like to emphasize the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study, because that shows in real life, how something that happened in our childhood, became our biology, so that we're getting diagnosed with diseases when we are an adult decades later. That's not psychological. Yes, there is a psychological component because they have, you know, belief systems and self-criticism and judgment and shame and all of that. And yet there's such strong implications for it being biology, that it is driving disease.

Dr. Aimie Apigian

what I found is that there's so much that we can do, and this is where I get super excited, because there's so many tools that we can bring in, that will help either get a person unstuck in their therapy process or their healing journey, or even be able to accelerate the healing journey

Dr. Aimie Apigian

It's always presenting an opportunity for healing. It's always presenting for us that invitation to just take the next best step towards our healing self, and away from our trauma self, always. Life is always giving us that and it's whether we recognize it, or if you're like me, who needs to hit a rock bottom low with your health until you're willing to stop and listen to the message that your body is giving you

ABOUT DR. AIMIE APIGIAN

Dr. Aimie is a Double Board-Certified Medical Physician in both Preventive and Addiction Medicine and holds Double Masters Degrees in Biochemistry and in Public Health. She is the leading medical expert on addressing stored trauma in the body through her signature model and methodology, The Biology of Trauma™: a new lens that courageously uplevels the old methods of trauma work and medicine by reverse-engineering trauma's effects on the nervous system and body on a cellular level. Dr. Aimie specializes in trauma, attachment and addictions after having personal experience in foster parenting, adopting and then having her own health issues that were a result of childhood and life experiences. In addition to her medical studies that have included Functional Medicine Certification, she has sought out trauma therapy training since 2015.

Core purpose/passion: Fueled by how my life has been affected by attachment trauma starting with my father and then my son and then needing to address my own insecure attachment patterns, my mission is to share what I have learned to accelerate the healing journey of attachment trauma of others.  Understanding attachment, trauma and the nervous system is just the beginning, and science and the experience of others are now confirming that even the most difficult of situations can improve without requiring years of therapy.
