I mean, especially autoimmunity. I think the last study that I read, which is several years old, showed that 70% of autoimmune conditions are correlated with early life trauma. And so that's really outstanding. And so, from there, as soon as I was able to kind of piece those pieces back together physical health, and then piece the pieces together of how our mind affects our body. That's when I really started to regain that health or even more health than I had before, and my patients got healthier.
Dr. Clinton
So, your body isn't attacking you, it's not deceiving you, it's not broken, it's reacting to signals that you are getting from your environment, whether that's diet, stress, you know, the list goes on and, on our toxin, load our relationship with nature, our connection, and community, and whether that's healthy and safe, or not safe and dangerous, all of those things have a tremendous impact.
Dr. Clinton
But it's longing to be in this connection that we no longer have in our world, whether it's with our food, whether it's with our communities, whether it's with ourselves, whether it's with nature, those relationships are no longer intact in our modern-day life. And so, creating that foundation of physical health, that gives patients a quality of life, then they have the energy and the motivation to really rekindle those relationships with nature, with community, with family, with themselves with their internal dialogue with their own perceptions of stress and response to stress.

I did a big surgery and patient was in ICU, and everything appeared to be good. And something tells me at midnight, wakes me up and says he's not doing well. So, I call, and I didn't get any signals from anyone, and I'm not trying to criticize the monitoring or something. I just went there, and he was almost in shock. So, these are little intuition things.
Dr. Krishna Bhatta
When it comes to the flame, we don't pay attention to we are born with a different size of flame. So, some people are born, they won’t stress out, they won't burn out. They don't know what that is. They don't need to do meditation to get there. Because they're already at a different level. But we don't work on the flame. And the whole emphasis that I'm trying to bring is that you should work in at it because you can be better. You need to develop all three elements.
Dr. Krishna Bhatta 18:34
Becoming more aware, you are there any way you can be more closer to it. So how would you say increase the size of the flame? But basically, you're just being more aware of your inner strength. And the more aware you become, it's amazing how many new doors start opening.

You've been really high cortisol for a really long time, which causes systemic inflammation, I bet your gut is toast. So, nothing you're ingesting is actually getting assimilated, but oils can go through the skin, they can get into the brain through the nasal passageways. This might help.
Jodi Cohen 09:34
I think that once upon a time, food was enough, like probably when I was a child in the 80s. But I think there are so many factors that kind of interfere with our body's ability to drop into parasympathetic to fall restfully asleep. And I think that we're being so bombarded with toxins, that it's really hard for our lymphatic system and drainage pathways to keep up so I feel like I 100% agree that when the body is in balance, it heals itself. I just think that a little bit more support is needed to get the body in balance. And that's where I feel that oils can play a really powerful role in tandem with nutrition.
Jodi Cohen
So, if you're having an anxiety attack or panic attack, that is the right hemisphere, the numerating hemisphere, that's overactive, specifically the forehead area, the frontal lobe executive function. So, the best way to kind of unravel an anxiety attack is to stimulate the left forehead the left frontal lobe, and the easiest way to do that is to smell anything.

Dr. Debi Silber
But we've all heard Time heals all wounds. And there's a question on the quiz that reads, is there anything else you'd like to share? And people are sharing things like, my betrayal happened 40 years ago, I can still feel the hate. My betrayal happened 35 years ago, I'm still unwilling to trust, my betrayal happened 10 years ago, it feels like it happened yesterday. So that saying of Time heals all wounds, I have the proof that's not true.
Dr. Debi Silber
Betrayal attacks the entire self and the whole self has to be rebuilt. Confidence, a sense of belonging, rejection, worthiness, trust. So when that's all rebuilt, it didn't kind of qualify as post-traumatic growth. It was really Post Traumatic Growth plus rebuilding of the self. So I've coined a new term post betrayal transformation. So when you have fully healed from betrayal, that's the state you're in.
Dr. Debi Silber
So most people find themselves in this perpetual holding pattern, which is stage three. That's where most people land and stay, if you're willing to let go of your story and all the benefits you get, and all of that you can move to stage four. Stage four is finding and adjusting to a new normal. Here's where you accept, I cannot change this scenario, this situation, but I can control the meaning I make, what I do with it, all of it.
About Dr. Debi Silber
Dr. Debi Silber is the founder of the Post Betrayal Transformation Institute and is a holistic psychologist, a health, mindset and personal development expert, the author of the #1 bestselling book: The Unshakable Woman: 4 Steps to Rebuilding Your Body, Mind and Life After a Life Crisis and her newest book: Trust Again. Her recent PhD study on how we experience betrayal made 3 ground-breaking discoveries that changes how long it takes to heal. In addition to being on FOX, CBS, The Dr. Oz Show, TED; and more, she’s an award-winning speaker, coach and author dedicated to helping people move past their betrayals as well as any other blocks preventing them from the health, work, finances, relationships, confidence and happiness they want most.
Core purpose / passion: I believe betrayal is one of the most painful of the human experiences. I vowed that if I were able to heal, help as many other people as I can do the same. It’s been the greatest thrill to see people broken hearted, depressed, sick, sad and stuck and watch them transform on every level.

Dr. L Of course, there's difficulty in dealing with children who have learning disabilities. And in that process, you know, their parenting and the parent relationship is strained. The spouse or relationship is strained as far as the approach to how to deal with the situation, finances are strained. So I didn't want the families to go through what I went through, and I want it to be more on the prevention side of things.
Dr. L 05:42
The limitations in practice were number one related to, first of all, how I could practice the scope of practice, what you're allowed to do, what you're allowed to say. You go to school, and after you get your diploma, you would think that you're qualified now to go and help people. And then comes the state and the local legislation, the federal legislation, so you go through those hoops, and then there is insurance. And you have to keep jumping through these hoops, to kind of prove yourself that you're capable and qualified enough to help people.
Dr. L So the list kind of goes on, and I realized that the best way that I personally could serve was by seeing that light bulb go on in the patient's minds, because once they understood the bigger picture of how their body works, and how they could go ahead and empower themselves and make differences and changes in their lives, then they naturally and automatically would go and seek the right solutions for themselves instead of me having to drag them along and convince everybody else along the way.

And what happened is when I reached my mid-40s, basically, I hit a wall. It was like my injuries were so bad, and I was losing the grip on my body. And basically, for me, it was like I was looking at losing my career really because I couldn't go on like this. And then one day I had a moment of clarity. It was in a meditation class the topic was a body-mind-spirit integration. And I woke up and I said well what do you mean body mind spirit integration?
Batista Gremaud 07:17
I knew some part was missing but I didn't know what it was. I expected it to come into some type of spiritual vision. I did not expect it to come into a strength training program. Certainly not. I had no clue. Literally, I had tried just about everything. From the mindset aspect of things from the physiotherapy from...everything. And so no, I did not know what was missing. I just knew something was missing. Because, you know, body spirit and your body's falling apart. That's, not right.
Batista Gremaud 12:21
Because in the system, that is the foundation of the body, because the spine is actually what is going to hold your body up. And then if it's out of alignment, or then your muscles are also tweaked and out of alignment, then you're always going to be out of alignment, it's going to do a domino effect. And this is oftentimes what is missing, we find with chiropractic treatment or other modalities that work with pain, they can be really efficient, but then if you don't rebuild the musculature around the spine, then the muscles are always going to pull you off.

I find it kind of ironic, because, prior to COVID, everybody wanted to work from home. It was everybody's dream, and it was every employer's nightmare. And now it's like the norm and people are freaking out, and they want to go back to the office and they are burning out in droves. And I think that part of the reason for that now is because people haven't really thought this through.
Dr. Sharon Grossman 16:37
Whatever your pattern is, there is some sort of a belief underlying that pattern. So perfectionism is a behavior. But it stems from an emotion. Typically, it's a fear of failure. And that emotion stems from a certain way of thinking. And it's usually some sort of a worried thought.
Dr. Sharon Grossman 29:57
Yeah, so I mean, the essence is if you think about how we got the original program is, as I said, it was something that you heard over and over again. And that's essentially what creates a program in your brain, right? It's like your subconscious mind is always listening. And when it hears something a lot, then it becomes a mind habit.

Highlights from today's episode include:
Mandy Brown
So because of my own naivety and the enthusiasm, I became literally the first teacher in the county, or that may be in parts of Britain actually, to actually introduce sign language. And I remember when I went to my interview, with the headteacher, it's an oral-only school so all the teachers would work with producing speech. So in my interview, very naive, the first job I ever had, I sort of said to the headteacher, "Look, can I sign with the children?" as she went, "No, no Mrs. Brown children don't sign."
Mandy Brown
But yes you were asking me where we originally started, it has to do with my desire to help people communicate. And that continued on the thread even to now where I work with contented dementia, and also what I call connection therapy to work with people with dementia and also healing. Communication literally has and interpreting and helping people communicate has worked right in my mind as far as the meaning now.
Mandy Brown
It's about helping them because as time goes on, the way that it works with dementia is that we, the person with dementia is literally taking photographs if you like almost what is happening. It's like the camera gets shut. And so they don't actually record that moment. It's not that they forgotten it, they never recorded it in the first place. So you can't get angry with the machine and if they haven't recorded that memory. But one of the other things that we find with dementia is that although they may not remember the details of things that have happened more recently, you know who their names, places, etc. They do, people with dementia do hold on to the emotions.
About Mandy Brown

Back in 2015, like actually, I think after 2014, when I actually started doing testing, and then I went more and more towards functional medicine as an entire study and field, developed a model called the Ten Pillars of Health, which is the primary model in which I work with clients because I found that including for myself, there are 10 major pillars of health. And people who struggle chronically, including me, have a minimum seven out of 10 pillars crumbling, and it explains why people who struggled for years and years and years, that after trying protocols, products, practitioners, they get kind of marginal, temporary, or unpredictable results. Because if you sit on seven tacks and you remove three technically you're healthier, but you don't feel any better.
Dr. Sam Shay
So brain, bowel, body, burst exercise, I find a B for that. So that's what I found: biotoxins bio-nutrients, breakfast, bothers, bugs, and bedtime. So I feel it's a pretty complete list and people had the seven out of ten. I also found four of those pillars could be sledgehammered. The body, car accident violence, or sports injuries, or that's a sledgehammer event which can knock out and then biotoxins can be a sledgehammer and a massive toxic exposure. The bothers can be sledgehammers if someone dies, a divorce a lawsuit, the firing of a job.
Dr. Sam Shay
This is not about variants, it is about duplicates. So there's a three-dimensionality to genetics that most people don't know. It's the copy numbers. It's not just merely if you’re red, yellow, green dot, it's how many duplicates of a certain genes matter. And that's the three-dimensionality that I really don't see discussed anywhere else. And so there's a few very meaningful things that can be done with that particular bit of technology.
About Dr. Sam Shay
Dr. Sam Shay, DC helps Biohackers, entrepreneurs, mom-preneurs, and service professionals increase their energy, resilience, and creativity, so they can create and sustain a great business to create more personal freedom.

Core purpose / passion : Life goal: Changing the understanding and approach to addiction. I overcame two addictions and have developed a model that explains all addictions. The first step for me before sharing this model worldwide is refining the functional medicine and genetics components to addiction.

So intuition is for me, an exploration of really connecting, a deep connection to an inner knowing. And that inner knowing goes beyond the physical limitations or the ideas or programming that we have in our minds. So sometimes when we get these intuitive hits, or this intuitive knowing or inner knowing it can come in a variety different ways. Some people get messages, some people hear a voice in their head, some people just feel a sense of knowing, some people have a physical sense of it, a gut instinct, you can call it so many things.
Sue Dumais
So another way to look at it is I always see that intuition is the bridge, and I use the heart. My business is heart-led living, so I use the heart as that bridge for our intuition. And I talk about how the heart or our intuition is a bridge between our divinity and our humaneness. And so what we're tapping into is more of a global perspective of a global knowing or a grand understanding of what's going on in the world. Which then sends us messages to our human self, to be able to interpret and fulfill whatever we're meant to fulfill in this life. So intuition creates this bridge between our divinity and our humaneness.
Sue Dumais 08:27
Instincts can be intuition and intuition can be instincts and then they can be separate as well. So we can have these humankind of instinctual reactions or responses in our body, or we can have instincts based on our human understanding or human programming. And then we can have more intuitive hits, which are not necessarily limited by our own programming, our own beliefs, and thoughts.

Veronica Worley 03:31
Clients usually come to me because they are at their end, they have tried every type of conventional doctor, or even other alternative treatments and have not found success. And they're tired of the medications, they're tired of saying they have to have surgery and all these sorts of things, and they want to know how they can heal their bodies naturally through natural causes
Veronica Worley 16:34
I think a lot of what I get is that people think it's difficult to eat well. People think it's expensive, and people think that it's time-consuming. So, one of my missions with my business is to help people see just the opposite of that, that it doesn't have to be expensive, it doesn't have to be difficult, and it doesn't have to be something that takes a lot of time..
Veronica Worley 18:31
Whole foods, stay away from packaged foods. Vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. I mean, simple. And you can put a lot of meals together with those basic ingredients, it doesn't have to be just meat, vegetable, potato. It can be stir fry, it can be more vegetables than meat, or whatever the person enjoys. And we'll talk about that too. With each individual, everybody's different. They eat differently. Some people need more protein than others. Hence my belief and why we have the vegetarian dilemma where people hit heads. Because the meat-eaters, they need more protein, more than likely, but the vegetarians don't. And so therefore there's this conflict and they think everyone should eat the way they do.
About Veronic Worley
As an FDN-P, Veronica helps men and women age gracefully and beautifully by getting to the root cause of belly fat, energy loss, hormone and mineral imbalance. She specializes in mineral imbalance, which can be the root to weight gain, energy loss and hormone imbalance. Once tested, you learn the exact process needed get the body back in balance and overcome disease and symptoms. She does this by using functional lab testing, food and lifestyle changes so you can get well and stay well.
As a certified FDN practitioner, she is trained to help clients run their own lab tests from home and use them as educational and investigative tools to find the root causes of symptoms. She does not diagnose or treat diseases, but works on everything in a non-specific manner, removing interference, restoring vitality, returning the body to health.
As many holistic Health Practitioners, Veronica’s path to helping others to feeling better, started when she, herself, started having many health issues a few years ago. Doctors couldn’t figure out causes of symptoms, so she chose natural methods to overcome fibroids, migraines, brain fog, hormone imbalance, depression, and energy loss. And she lost over 30 pounds in the process. This was huge for her, considering she has spent most of her life yo-yo dieting, losing and gaining the same 20 lbs.! Putting her nutrition background to work (B.S and M.S.) she began a lifelong study of nutrition, holistic wellness and functional medicine.
Seeing how quickly she saw results in her own body, she went back to school to become certified as a Holistic Health Coach (2015) and then a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, through FDN (2018), so she could go on to help others overcome their health issues.
Core purpose / passion: My core mission is to serve others, and give as much knowledge away as I can, by giving talks, writing, groups and social media. My purpose is to help others see that getting well does not have to be difficult and expensive, and eating healthy can be delicious and fun!

Dr Stacey Shillington
I decided to go off the pill, and when I went off the pill, my face exploded in acne. And, you know, it really changed my life. It changed the way I thought about myself, it changed my personality and the way I interacted with people, I went from being, pretty outgoing, pretty successful to hiding away from the world.
Dr Stacey Shillington
Then finally I went to see a naturopathic doctor. And the naturopathic doctor said to me, she said, "You know what, this is not a problem with your skin, this is a problem with the imbalance within your body. Something's not balanced, something has to be balanced." And that was like an aha moment for me.
Dr Stacey Shillington
Yeah, it very clearly looks like acne is a skin problem, but it's actually a really complex condition that involves many different organ systems in the body. And I always say there's like, four main root causes of acne.
About Dr Stacey Shillington, ND

At 11:45 - A treatment for Sciatica
At 14:44 - Tapping to treat Disappointment
I've been in the business of helping people release pain since 2005. What I've discovered is that pain is actually a finely calibrated information system in the body. It's here to help us not harm us and is trying to communicate some important things about our bodies and our lives. The problem has been that we do our best to ignore it, work around it or medicate it. We haven't been open to listening to pain because we haven't had the "tools" to hear it clearly. I'm here to change people's perspective about pain and I've developed a proven system that allows us to both access the information while also releasing the pain quickly and effectively.
Core purpose / passion: | I want to work with large groups of people helping them to release both physical and emotional pain while achieving higher consciousness. I have a goal of reaching one million people by 2022 with my work.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Beth O'Hara Functional Naturopath, specializing in complex chronic immune conditions related to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Histamine Intolerance
Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/beth-ohara
Highlights from today's episode include:
Beth O'Hara 02:57
The reason that people want to stick around and listen to this, is that mast activation syndrome is one of the most under-recognized conditions, and one of the most common, which is so interesting about it. Because studies have shown us that between 9 and 17% of the general population have mast activation syndrome. So we just take a second to think about that. We're talking like at least 1 in 10 people, that's quite a lot. And that's just a general population.
Beth O'Hara 07:10
Our mast cells are in every system in the body, almost every tissue. So we have to know that to think about the symptoms, and that the mast cells are here to be our frontline defending immune cells. So they're sensing toxins and pathogens, they're also sensing stress.
Beth O'Hara 09:28
So you take your front line defenders of your immune system, you knock out their response, and they coordinate the whole immune response to you just kind of knock that whole part out. And then the Lyme, Bartonella, babesia, Epstein Barr the mold, colonize in the body and had free rein. So that's the approach that is different is learning, not think about the mast cells or what's wrong and knock that out, we need to think about what's triggering underneath that's making the mast cells over-reactive.
About Beth O'Hara
Beth O’Hara is a Functional Naturopath, specializing in complex chronic immune conditions related to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Histamine Intolerance. She is the founder and owner of Mast Cell 360, a Functional Naturopathy Practice designed to look at all factors surrounding health conditions – genetic, epigenetic, biochemical, physiological, environmental, and emotional.

Cathleen Elle 01:25
I like to say that my life has been a little bit like a rhubarb pie, there's a lot of sour and there's a lot of sweet. And so you kind of blend it together. So my life started off with a considerable amount of trauma. As a kid, I was born to an abusive alcoholic father, who basically exposed us to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and even shot at us when I was three or four years old. And so there was quite a bit of trauma in my early childhood life. So that created a program, as many of us know is when from zero to eight, you'll learn how to respond to the world
Cathleen Elle 10:20
Using your imagination to go back into your body, feeling your body going back to its original, I'll call it the original sin of the pattern, and you recreate the memory based on the new awareness. You have a dialogue with the individual or individuals you need to have a dialogue with. So where you create more compassion, you create forgiveness.
Cathleen Elle 12:50
So instead of holding resentment and anger, I was able to hold more compassion and love. Just pure compassion and love for her, for her to give up what she gave up and to be abused. Like she was abused just so we could have a home. You know, it's a very different story. There's a very different feeling. It's a very different feeling.

Highlights from today's episode include:
Joseph Devlin 09:40
I have and I still do attend Alcoholics Anonymous. I'd say it saved my life. It's just going through the the 12 step process, which is a continual process, and it allowed me to take that snapshot of saying, okay, here's a blueprint for your life. How do you want to go about it? What do you want to do? How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? That was something that I am absolutely so grateful for. Because it was something that I needed and the great thing about Alcoholics Anonymous, or any of the 12 step programs, because like Al-Anon, or Nar-Anon is another program that I really encourage families to go to. Because the very same 12 steps that the individuals and like AA or NA are going through, are the same exact ones that they are asking those who will go to Al-Anon or Nar-Anon. Because, it's giving you that idea, that ability to take that introspective look at yourself, and it gives you the community around you. Really that's what strengthens us, it's the people that we're around.
Joseph Devlin 11:39
But even when I work with an individual, is when I always say it's like looking at breaking through that pain, shame, and embarrassment caused by addiction. We call it a substance abuse disorder, that's kind of changed within the DSM Five, the diagnosis to kind of help get away even just some of that stigmatism that that comes behind that. And honestly, that I think is one of the big pieces that happens when when you get involved in a community and I often say, "Hey, listen. Get involved with 12 step as I would highly suggest that. But, if it's your karate group, or your book group, or somebody else, get people around you who you're going to be able to open up to and break those things.
Joseph Devlin 33:51
The families that I work with, they've tried everything. They feel like they've tried everything. They feel like there's no hope, like there's nothing else that they can do that's going to make things change. That they're tired of the arguments in the house, they're tired of walking around on eggshells. They're tired of wondering, being fearful every night when they don't know when their loved one doesn't come home. And then when they are home, they're fearful that they wish just all this anxiety and craziness would stop. And I look at that, and I say, so there's two things that I say, is like that's really like that family. That's like that family addiction spiral right because so much is wrapped in there. And that's where I've kind of I've moved on. My practice is called Family Sobriety Now, because we have to look at that spiral. And we have to figure out what are those things that just keep us twisted in this, and then just kind of pull a little piece out each time. And then to build this entire family being sober.

Dr. Christina Bjorndal 08:47
Yeah, so the first step we want to understand is that there are four aspects to us as people. We have the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, and a holistic approach. We want to be investigating all four of those areas. But just speaking strictly on that physical side, understand that there are three macro systems in your body essentially. You have your neurotransmitters, you have your neuroendocrine or hormonal system, and then your organs of detoxification and immune system. And imbalances can lie in any one of those three areas.
Dr. Christina Bjorndal 11:36
I guess the main message I really like to leave people with is there's an explanation for your suffering. We just have to investigate it. And it naturally could be for sure on that physical level, but let's not forget the mental, emotional, spiritual sides of health too. I think that's the big problem with our system is it's focused solely on that physical level, unless you're seeing a psychologist, right.
Dr. Christina Bjorndal 13:35
Yeah, so the big thing is when I'm working with people, I talk about those four aspects, and then the three macro systems in a way to support ourselves are the foundation of health is diet, sleep, exercise, and then managing stress. So this managing stress piece involves looking at our thoughts and our emotions and how we behave and react in the world. And ultimately, the other two steps that I think are important is the environment and then wrapping everything up in love and compassion and this idea of spirituality, so to speak.

Vaishali Nikhade (04:52):
think about it as we are all human beings and as a human being, we are like a spirit in a body. So we have this body and we have these senses, our five senses. And then as a spirit, we also have senses and the senses of the spirit are known as clairvoyance clairaudience. I'm sure you've heard at least one or two of them, but it comes from like clairvoyance is clear, seeing clear audiences, clear hearing, and claircognizance is clear knowing. So those are the senses of the spirit
Vaishali Nikhade (19:06):
So that's, as far as body senses are concerned, but as far as the spirit is concerned, the senses of the spirit, they do not have any bounds. They are not bounded by space and they are not bounded by time either. So how would that work? So they're not bounded by space, which means that I can be here and I can look at what's happening behind me without a camera. I can sense what's happening in the other room without having the camera, which is, I'm not bounded by space. So that just one example of not being bounded by space.
Vaishali Nikhade (33:26):
For instance, the people who did not go to work at nine-eleven, they just knew that something was wrong. So they didn't go and they can justify it by various means why they didn't go. But somehow they knew that something was off. Now, like I said, the difference between intuition and psychic, they cannot point their finger and say, what's wrong until it happens. But the psychic can tell that, yes, this is it. There's going to be a crash or there's going to be a disaster.
About Vaishali Nikhade:
I am a left brain engineer who transitioned to a right brain psychic. This podcast is my brainchild of combining physics and metaphysics. Come and watch the magic of how reality is interlinked in this unique one of a kind podcast....
Core purpose/passion: My mission is to combine physics and metaphysics - I am launching a podcast to demonstrate the same
Most Impact: Only awareness can shift things - heal the spirit and the spirit heals the body - but before any healings, the person has to be able to see that they are either stuck or need help -

Dr Titus Chui 14:25
Number one first and foremost is giving people hope that even regardless if you've had a concussion, there are things you can do to heal. Healing is always possible. And that I'm a personal testament to that, to my whole journey. Number two, what I find with a lot of people, especially if they're already aware that they have a concussion. A lot of people I work with, patients, they have been to other doctors, and the doctors run their tests and then go, "There's nothing wrong with you, it's all in your head". So not only does that person have to deal with the physical and mental, emotional stress of their health challenge, then on top of that they're dismissed by their practitioner, not because there actually isn't anything going on, but it's because of their own lack of understanding around what actually happens with a concussion.
Dr Titus Chui 17:22
I think a lot of people have had concussions, that might not be the number one root cause for their symptoms. But I've worked with so many patients over the years that have changed their diet, they've taken supplements, there may be practicing yoga and meditation, yet they're still struggling. And I usually find that the missing ingredient number. one missing ingredient I see, at least with the patients I work with, is this whole picture of brain training. How to start to use, apply neuroplasticity, to rewire their brains and get their lives back
Dr Titus Chui 21:42
But the bigger framework that I've developed over the years, what I call root cause neurology, is the three pillars of brain health. That's one of the core foundations of my work, and what I did to heal from my concussion, and how I've helped many patients. The three pillars are like the physical brain, right, which we talked about earlier, the communication pathways like your cerebellum, and different things like somatic-based therapies like TMJ work, chiropractic adjustments, vestibular rehab, that all works on sculpting the neural pathways.

Highlights from today's episode include:
Dr. Hamid Elmyar 11:21
My philosophy in life is that power is in empowering others. As far as we have that in mind that to empower other people. And that's why I see the root causes when I mentioned a couple of problems, and in those communities, preventable diseases such as diarrhea, and bronchitis. There were other diseases, also preventable diseases, but lack of education, unfortunately, lack of awareness about health issues. And that those are the main causes, the root causes, lack of access to quality health, lack of basic education like illiteracy, and socioeconomic status. These all play an important role in people's health across the world, and especially in developing countries.
Dr. Hamid Elmyar 19:16
I realized that the healthcare professionals, unfortunately, especially during this pandemic time, also suffer somehow from the burden and burnout, and that's a major issue. If the healthcare professionals are not happy, what they do and they are not healthy and satisfied with the job that they're doing, then definitely it affects their productivity. It affects the way that they treat their patients
Dr. Hamid Elmyar 42:43
So the message is most of the belief that I have is that health is not limited to private practices in hospitals. It has to start from every individual communities, school systems, everywhere. And for that to happen, we need to raise awareness, we have to look for those underlying causes and root causes. And we have to have a collaborative, systematic approach to health in order to save people's lives. Also, not only helping our communities but health care professionals themselves as well.
About Dr Hamid Elmyar:
Hamid Elmyar, M.D. earned a master’s degree; from Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey. As a medical professional having experienced firsthand the devastating consequences resulting from a lack of accessible public health education and awareness which often led to the unnecessary loss of life in his country of origin, Afghanistan, he decided to immigrate to the United States where he has made it his mission to bring public awareness to a worldwide audience.
He hosts a biweekly podcast, “With Dr. E”, which invites experts in health, education, and community development from around the globe to share their experience, knowledge and insight with the world. Recently, his program has highlighted the experiences of those confronting the current coronavirus pandemic and the resultant socioeconomic implications to better understand what effective leadership is and how it can help mitigate this health crisis.
Dr. Hamid Elmyar believes health is not limited to private practices and hospitals; it has to start from every individual. He is known for bringing world's health professionals from all specialties around the same table for an upstream approach to health in order to impact millions.
He strongly believes the insight and experiences of some of the world’s renowned leaders in clinical and public health should be shared broadly and his podcast aims to promote and facilitate this.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dona-airey
Highlights from today's episode include:
Dona Airey (06:39):
There are a few things. One is terminology. I mean, in the mental health fields everything has a label. Everything has a description. Everything has a diagnosis that is very limiting and I found that what about the body and what about how the body affects our emotions? And I thought, and what about, what about ,when you have a thought and all of a sudden you have a stomach ache, what do people think that they don't even address that with conventional mental health
Dr Manon (11:25):
And neuro transmitters are made in the gut, or 70% of them anyway. So if we're, if our gut is in dysbiosis, it can't create, the neurotransmitters that we need in a healthy way.So it's definitely a cycle where the body is intimately involved in all of our States, not just fear and not just anxiety, but wellness, all our happy hormones, everything.
Dr Manon (15:27):
And even when you look at the, the evolution of the fascia, which was the saran wrap bubble wrap , but when you had an operation, you just took it out and discarded it without understanding how complex it is and how it's really our living matrix that puts everything together that signals, you know, biological, physiological signals, as well, as chemical signals for all our neurons and neuro-transmitters to work. I mean, it has free nerve endings, which impact us and how we hold trauma in ourselves and our body in our actual body, not just as a thought So I've learned more from experience and then later found out that's true.
Dona Airey (16:51):
One thing I want to mention before that is there's a process called brain spotting. And I think that's a good explanation sort of, of what happens also in that in the limbic system is where we house our memories and trauma. And so if, if something happens as a child, let's say, and or any age, and we don't deal with it. And so I can encapsulate it in that limbic system, not moving, not doing anything. And the process of brain spotting is to get the eyes to wherever we look in our eyes reaches a different spot in the, in the limbic system. And so what we do is we find the spot to look at dealing with a certain issue or trauma or something.
About Dona Airey:
With an MA in Psychology and MA in Early Childhood I taught in Early Childhood Programs, Started a Montessori School.
I followed my path to becoming a Psychotherapist by getting my MSSW in Clinical Social Work which I did for 32 years until right now. I I also was certified in CranioSacral Therapy and Jin Shin Do Accupressure. I practiced Body Therapy for 15 years in conjunction with Clinical Social Work Private Practice.
I am passionate about helping people connect to their emotions. In my 40 years of working with a milieu of people with many difficulties and pain, I noticed that maybe 95% of the people I have worked with had some kind of adverse response to emotions. Either, they were afraid of them, tried to control them, hide them, ignore them, over or under reacted to them. My belief is that we function as a whole when each: mind, body and spirit are developed and functioning. The emotions are part of our physical body and yet many people are not aware of the elements of them. My mission is to facilitate and teach people to befriend and utilize emotions to be integrated with their body and spirit.

Highlights from today's episode include:
Dr Matt (05:33):
I've Noticed a qualitative shift. I'm so curious what you think, how you feel.... I've noticed a qualitative shift in people's nervous systems, We're more on alert, more on guard, more, in that flexor reflex, afferent fight or flight sympathetic overdrive, you know, nor epinephrin fuelled fear state, we are just kind of..... In this, this ocean of fear and that's changed, you know, that's been an issue
Dr Matt (08:18):
i feel one of the big issues in our society is that people are sort of cutting down from here, like talking heads already disembodied......being disembodied and then asking people to wear masks and then believing or expecting that we're going to become more. Heart-Centered. I mean, that's a big leap.
Dr Matt (11:39):
I mean, no disrespect to any chiropractors who are watching this, but chiropractors who solely focused on pain or, Hey, nice to see, mrs. Jones, crack, crack, crack, pop, pop, pop, see you later. Those are the guys that are really struggling and they're struggling for a few reasons.
Dr Matt (14:54):
I've seen the situations where people are just really struggling. And then I've seen this situation where people are really thriving and the more holistic and the more emotionally attuned people are and the better communicators there are. And they have effective systems that actually work with the whole person they're doing really well.
Dr Manon (17:10):
The board standing up for for chiropractors saying, this is essential. We were as naturopathic doctors, also considered essential, but here's the kicker. We were not allowed to talk about the immune system. We were not allowed to say our truth.
Dr Matt (28:25):
The vast majority of people in the United States either don't have access to that, or don't have economic access to that. And so we look at communities that are disproportionately affected, whereas a major conversation about how many dollars you have to buy foods that are healthy. And when it's Kraft macaroni and cheese and processed grains and processed meats and Sugar Sugar Sugar huge amounts of obesity, hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes prediabetes, all of these predisposing conditions where you've got loads of cytokines, loads of inflammation, loads of emotional stress in the community because people in survival and all of a sudden now damn, and that's to say that wealthy people aren't affected, but it's, it's different. It's very different.

Dr Manon (07:02):
I think what most people don't realize about the whole fertility issue is that if you're in constant stress mode, your body just doesn't function as well as it should ,or your hormones don't kick in, your whole body doesn't work as well as it should. So I love what you're saying. And I think it's the same problem in general, about this single approach to body parts that is so typical of conventional medicine.
Pantea Kalhor (12:33):
So if there's a blocker, it means something in your body is not right and you need to resolve it. And it's not only you and your specialist. You have to do it in yourself because no matter which, especially as you go, if you don't believe it, you don't feel that you deserve it is not going to happen to you. You go from this one to another one desperately and nothing gonna change inside.
Dr Manon (15:31):
So I do a therapy that's called Bowen therapy. And I've had clients that have tried many, many things and it hasn't worked, I agree psychology and its understanding is very important, but I have found that some.. Structural and this sounds very strange because I've not had it. I have not really had any other medical professionals saying, yes, that's the case. I have also not researched this further, but I have many, many, many clients that after doing the work, putting their whole body in parasympathetic and making sure that their vertebral column is freed especially their tailbone and their TMJ that is properly aligned, then they will become pregnant.
