The Healers Café

Hi, it's Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) and I want to welcome you to the Healers Cafe. I am so excited to be doing this series of interviews and what I'll be doing is, is asking all kinds of healthcare practitioners, doctors, healers of all types, to really share with all of you their experience, why they became healers, what called them what they think about this being a healer thing. Is it, a thing? Who's really healing in this, what they've experienced from their their interaction with clients and patients and what the takeaways and understanding of what the process of healing is all about and the process of life. So that's the essence of what I'm doing. I'm hoping that this will serve also for patients that have issues and are looking for different ways of approaching it. * De-Registered, revoked & retired after 30+ years of practice. Now resourceful & resolved to share with you all the tools to take care of your health & vitality!

Highlights from today's episode include:

Jill L'Esperance

So, my understanding of that is when we can, if we're just working the muscle itself, and the brain still wants to keep it in protection mode or in fight and flight, it's going to very quickly go back to fight and flight. So, it would take numerous sessions, it would take long sessions to get a muscle to respond and to relax, then switching over to the methods that are used. Now the light touch approach. If we're working the correct points, we're resetting the nerve communication so that the brain can allow the muscle to relax. Right, then it's a lot more corrective and a lot more long lasting. It doesn't always hold 100% right off the bat, but we're helping to retrain that, you know, that muscle memory and the nerve communication from the brain.

Jill L'Esperance

So, I work on finding the actual root cause of the problem, right, so somebody may come in with low back pain, but that doesn't mean that's where the problem is. So very quick assessment methods. Very noninvasive, I don't need to make a client, show me their full range of motion. You know, if they're, if they have shoulder pain, they don't have to move their arm for me to assess where the problems coming from and put themselves in pain. Right? So, right, I really like the quick and often visual, if not visual, very light, palpation assessments. And then the quickness of the response.

Jill L'Esperance 20:12

But yeah, you know, the biggest thing...that the biggest, the best explanation I have, again, is we're working specific points on the body to allow the body to do the healing. Right. So, resetting, that nerve communication, basically just, you know, applying pressure on the points that these founders were able to develop. The guys who developed these techniques, figured out these points that helped to reset that communication. Where these points aren't what's doing the healing, but it's giving the body the ability to correct itself.

ABOUT Jill L'Esperance

I began my practice with national board certification in Medical Massage and Manual Therapy and after practicing this for four years I went on to additional training and became certified in Neuromuscular Release Therapy & and Swing Flex Power Golf, Sports Performance Therapy & SFT.

In 2013 I began my training in NST & Neurostructural Integration Technique. I am now certified in NST Basic, Advanced and TMJ.

Training in October 2015 in Textbook Bowen has taken my treatment approach to a whole new level. By adding assessments and combining treatment methods, with the primary focus on using “Bowen moves” I have seen a number of amazing outcomes and happy clients with great results in a number of unique situations.

Adding The Emmett Technique in 2016 has helped to bring the Bowen method to a whole new level that I never knew existed and has allowed for even quicker results for many clients.

As of March, 2019, I am a Certified Advanced Emmett Practitioner. I am also an instructor of the Emmett Technique Module 1 through 6 classes, and tutor the EMM-Tech Short Course & Easy Muscle Management.

I also practice and teach MSTR & McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (Deregistered with 30 years of experience in health), talks with Sara Raymond, who does Hypnotherapy, yoga and meditation and the Founder of The Mindful Movement

Highlights from today's episode include:

Sara Raymond 09:19

I would say that, you know, everyone's different, but I think that, for the most part, babies are born with confidence. They have this expectation that their needs will be met. And I say most of the time because there are some, you know, traumatic birth experiences that can come with a lack of confidence or a lack of feelings of safety. But, you know, like a baby is born and they have this expectation that their diapers are gonna get changed they're gonna be fed they're gonna be snuggled and loved and they're confident right?

Sara Raymond

But then somehow, as adults, you know, compliments come in, it's like we defer them or we deny that it's true, or, you know, these things happen. We don't believe that they're true. And I believe and I think I've seen in myself and other clients that I've worked with, that we have these experiences when we're young, when before our logical mind is really fully developed

Sara Raymond 12:29

And so, we need to look at what's getting in the way of the confidence what what's stopping this person from really manifesting or experiencing the confidence that they desire. And well, number one, just being aware of the fact that it's not what you want it to be is a really great first step. And then looking at experiences from the past that may have originally caused the lack of confidence, right? If we say that most babies are born with confidence, so something happened to change that. So, what is it that happened to that person that could have changed their belief about themselves?

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger (Deregistered with 30 years of experience in health), talks with Jenna Howe, about Bowen Therapy, Osteopathy and Concussion Recovery, Healing Back pain, Sciatic and another on healing hip, knee and leg pain.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/jenna-howe

Highlights from today's episode include:

Jenna Howe

I might see anywhere between 20 and 25 patients a week. And a large majority of them are Bowen based, some of them are just strict Bowen, I've got two sessions this afternoon, actually, that are just strict Bowen. And everything else is a combination. But Bowen has been the foundation of, of my entire healing career. And so, I always come back to that even if it's, you know, outside of the traditional teachings, I'm still infusing it with whatever I need, at whatever time I need. It's, it's always there.

Jenna Howe

I was using the protocol, the concussion recovery protocol. I'm using Bowen but having to apply it to chronic situations and figuring out the nuances with these chronic situations and differences between men and women or older people younger people, car accident versus sports injury. And a lot of it was a lot of self-education. And that's kind of how I ended up grabbing up all of these other programs and certifications along the way, is because, you know, the concussion has, there's a lot of layers to that, depending on the type of person that you're working with.

Jenna Howe 17:28

And, in the unfortunate thing is that, by the time people come to see me, they've been suffering for quite a while. And they've been told by specialists and so on, that while this is just the way it is, it's never going to change, you're just going to have to deal with it. And that doesn't help anybody. And I've always been the type of person who, I believe there's a solution to every problem. I may not have the solution personally, but there's going to be a solution somewhere, somewhere, there's going to be a way to deal with whatever is going on.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon talks with Jennifer Mannion, an Author, Teacher, Healing Intuitive and certified in 15 different energy healing modalities, e.g. shamanism, Akashic records, mind/body tools.

For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/jennifer-mannion

Highlights from today's episode include:

Jennifer Mannion  05:31

Well, we all are connected, as you know, there is no me and you, I mean, we are all connected, we're all connected to universal energy. And she also did actually, during that session, got a download, like a dream of when the cancer manifested, I guess she had had a boyfriend, and the boyfriend had sexually molested her daughter. And she took on all this guilt from that, so she got that in a deep forgiveness of herself. So that was, you know, that's beyond me, I can open up kind of a doorway, you know where that information comes in. But I'm not feeding that information to her. So, it really is about the connection. It's about love learning different ways to connect to that energy and just open that doorway for that information and that healing to come in.

Jennifer Mannion  09:36

Well shamans believe we are I mean, we're born, you know, whole, and we do we do have stuff from our ancestors that we're do inherit but as we experience, say, trauma, parts of our soul will go off to keep themselves keep it safe, actually. So, a Shaman can help someone reclaim those lost soul facets and really become more of themselves. It's all about, you know, just healing those wounded pieces of ourselves. And a shaman does not heal anyone, a shaman guides someone for their own healing

Jennifer Mannion  25:08

I think it's really important to recognize that we are always informing our body. And whether that's fear or that's love. And there's a whole lot of fear going around now, too, and we are the ultimate, we are in control, like, we really do have so much control over our systems. But we do let birds we do let you know the facts that are supposedly in front of us. But just like, you know, you healed yourself and I healed myself, we know that there are ways to create healthy cells in our body, when I was focused on the parts of my body that didn't hurt and saying, I am, yeah, I know, I have healthy cells in my body because my fingers don't hurt, you know, thank you, and tapping into our body.
