The Healers Café

Hi, it's Manon Bolliger (facilitator and retired naturopath with 30+ years of practice) and I want to welcome you to the Healers Cafe. I am so excited to be doing this series of interviews and what I'll be doing is, is asking all kinds of healthcare practitioners, doctors, healers of all types, to really share with all of you their experience, why they became healers, what called them what they think about this being a healer thing. Is it, a thing? Who's really healing in this, what they've experienced from their their interaction with clients and patients and what the takeaways and understanding of what the process of healing is all about and the process of life. So that's the essence of what I'm doing. I'm hoping that this will serve also for patients that have issues and are looking for different ways of approaching it. * De-Registered, revoked & retired after 30+ years of practice. Now resourceful & resolved to share with you all the tools to take care of your health & vitality!

About Sharon Smith

I've been in the business of helping people release pain since 2005. What I've discovered is that pain is actually a finely calibrated information system in the body. It's here to help us not harm us and is trying to communicate some important things about our bodies and our lives. The problem has been that we do our best to ignore it, work around it or medicate it. We haven't been open to listening to pain because we haven't had the "tools" to hear it clearly. I'm here to change people's perspective about pain and I've developed a proven system that allows us to both access the information while also releasing the pain quickly and effectively.

Core purpose / passion: | I want to work with large groups of people helping them to release both physical and emotional pain while achieving higher consciousness. I have a goal of reaching one million people by 2022 with my work.

Sharon Holand Gelfand:  Like Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine”. But then as I started working with my clients with the gut stool, the first thing was like, let's do a GI map. In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Beth O'Hara Functional Naturopath, specializing in complex chronic immune conditions related to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Histamine Intolerance

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/beth-ohara

Highlights from today's episode include:

Beth O'Hara  02:57

The reason that people want to stick around and listen to this, is that mast activation syndrome is one of the most under-recognized conditions, and one of the most common, which is so interesting about it. Because studies have shown us that between 9 and 17% of the general population have mast activation syndrome. So we just take a second to think about that. We're talking like at least 1 in 10 people, that's quite a lot. And that's just a general population.

Beth O'Hara  07:10

Our mast cells are in every system in the body, almost every tissue. So we have to know that to think about the symptoms, and that the mast cells are here to be our frontline defending immune cells. So they're sensing toxins and pathogens, they're also sensing stress.

Beth O'Hara  09:28

So you take your front line defenders of your immune system, you knock out their response, and they coordinate the whole immune response to you just kind of knock that whole part out. And then the Lyme, Bartonella, babesia, Epstein Barr the mold, colonize in the body and had free rein. So that's the approach that is different is learning, not think about the mast cells or what's wrong and knock that out, we need to think about what's triggering underneath that's making the mast cells over-reactive.

Beth O’Hara is a Functional Naturopath, specializing in complex chronic immune conditions related to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Histamine Intolerance. In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Cathleen Elle a International Best Selling Author, Transformational Speaker, Certified Succeeds Coach and Healer and Co-Host of Beyond Your Best Plan Podcast.

For the transcript and to listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/cathleen-elle

Highlights from today's episode include:

Cathleen Elle  01:25

I like to say that my life has been a little bit like a rhubarb pie, there's a lot of sour and there's a lot of sweet. And so you kind of blend it together. So my life started off with a considerable amount of trauma. As a kid, I was born to an abusive alcoholic father, who basically exposed us to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse and even shot at us when I was three or four years old. And so there was quite a bit of trauma in my early childhood life. So that created a program, as many of us know is when from zero to eight, you'll learn how to respond to the world

Cathleen Elle  10:20

Using your imagination to go back into your body, feeling your body going back to its original, I'll call it the original sin of the pattern, and you recreate the memory based on the new awareness. You have a dialogue with the individual or individuals you need to have a dialogue with. So where you create more compassion, you create forgiveness.

Cathleen Elle  12:50

So instead of holding resentment and anger, I was able to hold more compassion and love. Just pure compassion and love for her, for her to give up what she gave up and to be abused. Like she was abused just so we could have a home. You know, it's a very different story. There's a very different feeling. It's a very different feeling.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Joseph Devlin a respected behavioral health expert and Family Addictions Specialist.

For the transcript and to listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/joseph-devlin

Highlights from today's episode include:

Joseph Devlin  09:40

I have and I still do attend Alcoholics Anonymous. I'd say it saved my life. It's just going through the the 12 step process, which is a continual process, and it allowed me to take that snapshot of saying, okay, here's a blueprint for your life. How do you want to go about it? What do you want to do? How far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? That was something that I am absolutely so grateful for. Because it was something that I needed and the great thing about Alcoholics Anonymous, or any of the 12 step programs, because like Al-Anon, or Nar-Anon is another program that I really encourage families to go to. Because the very same 12 steps that the individuals and like AA or NA are going through, are the same exact ones that they are asking those who will go to Al-Anon or Nar-Anon. Because, it's giving you that idea, that ability to take that introspective look at yourself, and it gives you the community around you. Really that's what strengthens us, it's the people that we're around.

Joseph Devlin  11:39

But even when I work with an individual, is when I always say it's like looking at breaking through that pain, shame, and embarrassment caused by addiction. We call it  a substance abuse disorder, that's kind of changed within the DSM Five, the diagnosis to kind of help get away even just some of that stigmatism that that comes behind that. And honestly, that I think is one of the big pieces that happens when when you get involved in a community and I often say, "Hey, listen. Get involved with 12 step as I would highly suggest that. But, if it's your karate group, or your book group, or somebody else, get people around you who you're going to be able to open up to and break those things.

Joseph Devlin  33:51

The families that I work with, they've tried everything. They feel like they've tried everything. They feel like there's no hope, like there's nothing else that they can do that's going to make things change. That they're tired of the arguments in the house, they're tired of walking around on eggshells. They're tired of wondering, being fearful every night when they don't know when their loved one doesn't come home. And then when they are home, they're fearful that they wish just all this anxiety and craziness would stop. And I look at that, and I say, so there's two things that I say, is like that's really like that family. That's like that family addiction spiral right because so much is wrapped in there. And that's where I've kind of I've moved on. My practice is called Family Sobriety Now, because we have to look at that spiral. And we have to figure out what are those things that just keep us twisted in this, and then just kind of pull a little piece out each time. And then to build this entire family being sober.

For the transcript and to listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/Dr-Christina-Bjorndal

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr. Christina Bjorndal  08:47

Yeah, so the first step we want to understand is that there are four aspects to us as people. We have the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, and a holistic approach. We want to be investigating all four of those areas. But just speaking strictly on that physical side, understand that there are three macro systems in your body essentially. You have your neurotransmitters, you have your neuroendocrine or hormonal system, and then your organs of detoxification and immune system. And imbalances can lie in any one of those three areas.

Dr. Christina Bjorndal  11:36

I guess the main message I really like to leave people with is there's an explanation for your suffering. We just have to investigate it. And it naturally could be for sure on that physical level, but let's not forget the mental, emotional, spiritual sides of health too. I think that's the big problem with our system is it's focused solely on that physical level, unless you're seeing a psychologist, right.

Dr. Christina Bjorndal  13:35

Yeah, so the big thing is when I'm working with people, I talk about those four aspects, and then the three macro systems in a way to support ourselves are the foundation of health is diet, sleep, exercise, and then managing stress. So this managing stress piece involves looking at our thoughts and our emotions and how we behave and react in the world. And ultimately, the other two steps that I think are important is the environment and then wrapping everything up in love and compassion and this idea of spirituality, so to speak.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Vaishali Nikhade who is a left brain engineer who transitioned to a right brain psychic.

For the transcript and to listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/vaishali-nikhade

Highlights from today's episode include:

Vaishali Nikhade (04:52):

think about it as we are all human beings and as a human being, we are like a spirit in a body. So we have this body and we have these senses, our five senses. And then as a spirit, we also have senses and the senses of the spirit are known as clairvoyance clairaudience. I'm sure you've heard at least one or two of them, but it comes from like clairvoyance is clear, seeing clear audiences, clear hearing, and claircognizance is clear knowing. So those are the senses of the spirit

Vaishali Nikhade (19:06):

So that's, as far as body senses are concerned, but as far as the spirit is concerned, the senses of the spirit, they do not have any bounds. They are not bounded by space and they are not bounded by time either. So how would that work? So they're not bounded by space, which means that I can be here and I can look at what's happening behind me without a camera. I can sense what's happening in the other room without having the camera, which is, I'm not bounded by space. So that just one example of not being bounded by space.

Vaishali Nikhade (33:26):

For instance, the people who did not go to work at nine-eleven, they just knew that something was wrong. So they didn't go and they can justify it by various means why they didn't go. But somehow they knew that something was off. Now, like I said, the difference between intuition and psychic, they cannot point their finger and say, what's wrong until it happens. But the psychic can tell that, yes, this is it. There's going to be a crash or there's going to be a disaster.

About Vaishali Nikhade:

I am a left brain engineer who transitioned to a right brain psychic. This podcast is my brainchild of combining physics and metaphysics. Come and watch the magic of how reality is interlinked in this unique one of a kind podcast....

Core purpose/passion: My mission is to combine physics and metaphysics - I am launching a podcast to demonstrate the same

Most Impact: Only awareness can shift things - heal the spirit and the spirit heals the body - but before any healings, the person has to be able to see that they are either stuck or need help -

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Dr Titus Chui, best selling author, award winning international speaker, and Functional Neurologist that specializes in Post-Concussion Syndrome.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-titus-chui

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr Titus Chui  14:25

Number one first and foremost is giving people hope that even regardless if you've had a concussion, there are things you can do to heal. Healing is always possible. And that I'm a personal testament to that, to my whole journey. Number two, what I find with a lot of people, especially if they're already aware that they have a concussion. A lot of people I work with, patients, they have been to other doctors, and the doctors run their tests and then go, "There's nothing wrong with you, it's all in your head". So not only does that person have to deal with the physical and mental, emotional stress of their health challenge, then on top of that they're dismissed by their practitioner, not because there actually isn't anything going on, but it's because of their own lack of understanding around what actually happens with a concussion.

Dr Titus Chui  17:22

I think a lot of people have had concussions, that might not be the number one root cause for their symptoms. But I've worked with so many patients over the years that have changed their diet, they've taken supplements, there may be practicing yoga and meditation, yet they're still struggling. And I usually find that the missing ingredient number. one missing ingredient I see, at least with the patients I work with, is this whole picture of brain training. How to start to use, apply neuroplasticity, to rewire their brains and get their lives back

Dr Titus Chui  21:42

But the bigger framework that I've developed over the years, what I call root cause neurology, is the three pillars of brain health. That's one of the core foundations of my work, and what I did to heal from my concussion, and how I've helped many patients. The three pillars are like the physical brain, right, which we talked about earlier, the communication pathways like your cerebellum, and different things like somatic-based therapies like TMJ work, chiropractic adjustments, vestibular rehab, that all works on sculpting the neural pathways.

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr. Hamid Elmyar  11:21

My philosophy in life is that power is in empowering others. As far as we have that in mind that to empower other people. And that's why I see the root causes when I mentioned a couple of problems, and in those communities, preventable diseases such as diarrhea, and bronchitis. There were other diseases, also preventable diseases, but lack of education, unfortunately, lack of awareness about health issues. And that those are the main causes, the root causes, lack of access to quality health, lack of basic education like illiteracy, and socioeconomic status. These all play an important role in people's health across the world, and especially in developing countries.

Dr. Hamid Elmyar  19:16

I realized that the healthcare professionals, unfortunately, especially during this pandemic time, also suffer somehow from the burden and burnout, and that's a major issue. If the healthcare professionals are not happy, what they do and they are not healthy and satisfied with the job that they're doing, then definitely it affects their productivity. It affects the way that they treat their patients

Dr. Hamid Elmyar  42:43

So the message is most of the belief that I have is that health is not limited to private practices in hospitals. It has to start from every individual communities, school systems, everywhere. And for that to happen, we need to raise awareness, we have to look for those underlying causes and root causes. And we have to have a collaborative, systematic approach to health in order to save people's lives. Also, not only helping our communities but health care professionals themselves as well.

About Dr Hamid Elmyar:

Hamid Elmyar, M.D. earned a master’s degree; from Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey.  As a medical professional having experienced firsthand the devastating consequences resulting from a lack of accessible public health education and awareness which often led to the unnecessary loss of life in his country of origin, Afghanistan, he decided to immigrate to the United States where he has made it his mission to bring public awareness to a worldwide audience.

He hosts a biweekly podcast, “With Dr. E”, which invites experts in health, education, and community development from around the globe to share their experience, knowledge and insight with the world. Recently, his program has highlighted the experiences of those confronting the current coronavirus pandemic and the resultant socioeconomic implications to better understand what effective leadership is and how it can help mitigate this health crisis.

Dr. Hamid Elmyar believes health is not limited to private practices and hospitals; it has to start from every individual. He is known for bringing world's health professionals from all specialties around the same table for an upstream approach to health in order to impact millions.

He strongly believes the insight and experiences of some of the world’s renowned leaders in clinical and public health should be shared broadly and his podcast aims to promote and facilitate this.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Dona Airey  with an MA in Psychology and MA in Early Childhood, Psychotherapist in Clinical Social Work, certified in CranioSacral Therapy,  Jin Shin Do Accupressure and Body Therapy  with Clinical Social Work Private Practice

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dona-airey

Highlights from today's episode include:

 Dona Airey (06:39):

There are a few things. One is terminology. I mean, in the mental health fields everything has a label. Everything has a description. Everything has a diagnosis that is very limiting and I found that what about the body and what about how the body affects our emotions? And I thought, and what about, what about ,when you have a thought and all of a sudden you have a stomach ache, what do people think that they don't even address that with conventional mental health

Dr Manon (11:25):

And neuro transmitters are made in the gut, or 70% of them anyway. So if we're, if our gut is in dysbiosis, it can't create, the neurotransmitters that we need in a healthy way.So it's definitely a cycle where the body is intimately involved in all of our States, not just fear and not just anxiety, but wellness, all our happy hormones, everything.

Dr Manon (15:27):

And even when you look at the, the evolution of the fascia, which was the saran wrap bubble wrap , but when you had an operation, you just took it out and discarded it without understanding how complex it is and how it's really our living matrix that puts everything together that signals, you know, biological, physiological signals, as well, as chemical signals for all our neurons and neuro-transmitters to work. I mean, it has free nerve endings, which impact us and how we hold trauma in ourselves and our body in our actual body, not just as a thought So I've learned more from experience and then later found out that's true.

Dona Airey (16:51):

One thing I want to mention before that is there's a process called brain spotting. And I think that's a good explanation sort of, of what happens also in that in the limbic system is where we house our memories and trauma. And so if, if something happens as a child, let's say, and or any age, and we don't deal with it. And so I can encapsulate it in that limbic system, not moving, not doing anything. And the process of brain spotting is to get the eyes to wherever we look in our eyes reaches a different spot in the, in the limbic system. And so what we do is we find the spot to look at dealing with a certain issue or trauma or something.

About Dona Airey:

With an MA in Psychology and MA in Early Childhood I taught in Early Childhood Programs, Started a Montessori School.

I followed my path to becoming a Psychotherapist by getting my MSSW in Clinical Social Work which I did for 32 years until right now.  I I also was certified in CranioSacral Therapy and Jin Shin Do Accupressure.  I practiced Body Therapy for  15 years in conjunction with Clinical Social Work Private Practice.

I am passionate about helping people connect to their emotions.  In my 40 years of working with a milieu of people with many difficulties and pain, I noticed that maybe 95% of the people I have worked with had some kind of adverse response to emotions.  Either, they were afraid of them, tried to control them, hide them, ignore them, over or under reacted to them.  My belief is that we function as a whole when each: mind, body and spirit are developed and functioning.  The emotions are part of our physical body and yet many people are not aware of the elements of them.  My mission is to facilitate and teach people to befriend and utilize emotions to be integrated with their body and spirit.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Dr Matt Lyon, Chiropractor, acupuncture practitioner and a teacher of meditation

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-matt-lyon2

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr Matt (05:33):

I've Noticed a qualitative shift. I'm so curious what you think, how you feel.... I've noticed a qualitative shift in people's nervous systems, We're more on alert, more on guard, more, in that flexor reflex, afferent fight or flight sympathetic overdrive, you know, nor epinephrin fuelled fear state, we are just kind of..... In this, this ocean of fear and that's changed, you know, that's been an issue

Dr Matt (08:18):

i feel one of the big issues in our society is that people are sort of cutting down from here, like talking heads already disembodied......being disembodied and then asking people to wear masks and then believing or expecting that we're going to become more. Heart-Centered. I mean, that's a big leap.

Dr Matt (11:39):

I mean, no disrespect to any chiropractors who are watching this, but chiropractors who solely focused on pain or, Hey, nice to see, mrs. Jones, crack, crack, crack, pop, pop, pop, see you later. Those are the guys that are really struggling and they're struggling for a few reasons.

Dr Matt (14:54):

I've seen the situations where people are just really struggling. And then I've seen this situation where people are really thriving and the more holistic and the more emotionally attuned people are and the better communicators there are. And they have effective systems that actually work with the whole person they're doing really well.

Dr Manon (17:10):

The board standing up for for chiropractors saying, this is essential. We were as naturopathic doctors, also considered essential, but here's the kicker. We were not allowed to talk about the immune system. We were not allowed to say our truth.

Dr Matt (28:25):

The vast majority of people in the United States either don't have access to that, or don't have economic access to that. And so we look at communities that are disproportionately affected, whereas a major conversation about how many dollars you have to buy foods that are healthy. And when it's Kraft macaroni and cheese and processed grains and processed meats and Sugar Sugar Sugar huge amounts of obesity, hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes prediabetes, all of these predisposing conditions where you've got loads of cytokines, loads of inflammation, loads of emotional stress in the community because people in survival and all of a sudden now damn, and that's to say that wealthy people aren't affected, but it's, it's different. It's very different.

Dec 16, 2020

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr Manon (07:02):

I think what most people don't realize about the whole fertility issue is that if you're in constant stress mode, your body just doesn't function as well as it should ,or your hormones don't kick in, your whole body doesn't work as well as it should. So I love what you're saying. And I think it's the same problem in general, about this single approach to body parts that is so typical of conventional medicine.

Pantea Kalhor  (12:33):

So if there's a blocker, it means something in your body is not right and you need to resolve it. And it's not only you and your specialist. You have to do it in yourself because no matter which, especially as you go, if you don't believe it, you don't feel that you deserve it is not going to happen to you. You go from this one to another one desperately and nothing gonna change inside.

Dr Manon (15:31):

So I do a therapy that's called Bowen therapy. And I've had clients that have tried many, many things and it hasn't worked, I agree psychology and its understanding is very important, but I have found that some.. Structural and this sounds very strange because I've not had it. I have not really had any other medical professionals saying, yes, that's the case. I have also not researched this further, but I have many, many, many clients that after doing the work, putting their whole body in parasympathetic and making sure that their vertebral column is freed especially their tailbone and their TMJ that is properly aligned, then they will become pregnant.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with NaRon Tillman is the Director of Urban Yogis, Director of Inner Knowledge, Pastor of One Ministries, host of Walk In Victory Podcast.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/naron-tillman

Highlights from today's episode include:

Naron (06:13):
then I started on a powerful entrepreneurialship. And by the time I was 24, I became a minister and getting into ministry was different. It was different because then I started to lose myself. I didn't know who I was as a man and I was preaching, but I still never really could find a balance of being a minister and being a husband and being all the other things that came along with it. And I felt like that I had, I felt as if I had to do something. So I was always attempting to find people to heal or to save the world. Right.

Naron (08:27):
I'm 44, 20 years of ministry. My views have changed from then to now drastically. And it was all part of the healing process. And it's funny because what I've learned is that healing is a lifetime journey, right? So the process of healing is we're always, we always find ourselves needing to go through those processes again, on some level, whether it's gone back to devotion, personal devotion or prayer, whether it's which I got into some years ago, which is going to transition, yoga and meditation and then coupling those things. So I got into yoga and I got into meditation. Growing up, I was taught that we shouldn't meditate. I was taught that we, that we shouldn't do these things, but I had a back problem. And I walked into this thing and I was running and like ran too long.

Dr Manon (14:38):
I think you pointed out really well, how we, we live in a society that tends to separate the spirit from the body, from our thoughts and emotions. And when you start to integrate all of this, you start to realize that that also your pains and your beliefs that you're old, or you can't move, are actually just beliefs, you can really start to feel it and that as you heal your physical body, some of the emotions that you have stored release, and that also deals with like your spirituality, we're all one connected. We just live in this delusion.......

And human beings grow the most when they're uncomfortable. So the secret is get uncomfortable and be comfortable about being uncomfortable. And whenever you're comfortable know that that's not the best place to be. You have to get uncomfortable about being comfortable. And that gives you the biggest growth. And when you grow, it's compounded all sorts of beautiful things happen for you. And it's how you show up to coupled with being so amazing saying yes, helping people, serving, serving, serving another important thing is you have to have pure intense. If you have pure intent, it works so much faster because people will know that you don't have pure intent. You'll know your vibrational energy is online.

Anil Gupta (20:30):

when you say yes, it means that you're saying no to something that could help more people. When you say no to something you're saying yes to something else.

Highlights from today's episode include:

Michelle Barrial  (06:06):

So really we have this energy flowing through us and then there's energy all around us in our environment. So you're really connecting to that universal energy. And what you're doing is you're acting as a channel so that the energy flows through you. And that's where you can sense if there's blockages in the person's, I call it their highway, their bio highway. So if you can sense that there's a blockages much like traffic it's blocked sometimes and backed up, it's the same way with our body. So when you can sense that there's a blockage in the area due to a physical symptom, or again, due to some kind of spiritual or mental block, then what I do is just transmit the energy through myself that I channeled it as a channel. And then that's when I can feel that it starts to break up or sort of dissolve, I could feel and have that sensation that it's, it's opening up the channel.

Michelle Barrial  (17:42):

So our conscious mind is what we're in most of the time, but in reality, our subconscious mind is the mind where your memory is longterm memories, part of where your imagination is. So, and it's also where you have a lot of beliefs from childhood traumas and things that you don't remember that come up that are still affecting you today as an adult.

Michelle Barrial  (40:02):

So in my book, I talk about the ways that you can create a healthy life, body minded spirit. So I talk about how to relax physically like mind hacks for sleeping. I talk about breathing how important it is to, to maintain your breath control, particularly when your emotions try to take over, and then you wanna help yourself to be calm again and, and feel like you're not losing control, but rather that you're are in control of your emotions. So I teach steps in there for breathing with a few exercises.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Mike Marschausen a holistic health coach, intuitive healer, empath, and highly sensitive person, years after his deployment to Afghanistan as a United States army in infantry

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/Mike-Marschausen

Highlights from today's episode include:

Mike Marschausen (22:49):
Of course you have to come through a place where you realize you don't need to be fixed and you'll get a lot more healing in that way. But you know, it's, that's something that you really have to go through even just like intellectually, it isn't going to cut it.

Mike Marschausen (23:06):
You still have this, this feeling of, well, I have to just, if I could just fix this, then, you know, then that'll happen. And that's definitely been a driving force for me through, through everything, through all the healing and through my curiosity and my passion and the discipline. And so this is, one of the positive sides to the wounded healer, not necessarily the shadow side is that it drives my curiosity. It draws my passion it just drives me wanting to be better wanting to learn more healing modalities.

Mike Marschausen (24:35):
I've done healing around this, I've also a kind of an image that comes up, whether this is just an actual past life or whether this is just you know mental imagery to, to teach the lesson is as a monk who He, wants to serve God so, so much, but from such a place of fear, and he's so afraid to do anything wrong through because he doesn't want to be judged by God, or judged to be unholy. So is so afraid to do really anything. And, you know, it definitely doesn't want to touch money, doesn't want any type of intimate relationships.

Mike Marschausen (25:22):
So this just keeps you from living your life, it keeps you to stay small and you know, and this is like this idea that so many healers and empaths have, right? Like that's what it means to be Holy. And so with that came up, we had to work around, this is ,I'd rather be whole than Holy, so we should never seek to be Holy because that's not even like a real thing.

Mike Marschausen (35:24):
I see empath as a vortex and so I think all the empaths collectively are serving as like the vortex is for the collective consciousness, right.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Candace Plattor, former addict, Addictions Therapist

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/candace-plattor

Highlights from today's episode include:

Candice Plattor  (10:39):

But I found that I was, it was hard for me to be in alignment with that philosophy after a while, because they see addiction as a disease. i can't just say, I'm not going to have Crohn's anymore, but I can do that with addiction. And they tell us that we're powerless over this disease. And I was already seeing that I was not powerless over this disease, you know, so it was, it was a difficult juxtaposition for me. And I decided to not continue to go. I don't see addiction as a disease.

Dr Manon (18:01):

There's a, the need to know that the addict can, or the one with addictive behaviours let's say is actually able to change that there is a belief, even in the 12 step program, as you said, which basically tells you to keep repeating I'm an addict. And you know, and it's like, if it becomes your label, then you really can't, you don't believe that there's even a chance to get this right.

Dr Manon (18:49):

And for the enablers as well, because they, they actually have that program too..

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Julie Michelson, international speaker, and a National Board-Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, who specializes in autoimmunity.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/julie-michelson

Highlights from today's episode include:

Julie Michelson (03:52):

I was first diagnosed, I went to the top rheumatology facility where I live. And I literally was told by more than one doctor we're so sorry, we'll keep you, you know, you're so young, we'll keep you as comfortable as we can for as long as we can.

Julie Michelson (04:14):

It never occurred to me that, like, there was any other option other than to expect decline. And so as a little preface to this story, you know, at the time my daughter came to me, I was in my mid forties and my father had passed away at age 54. And he was seemingly healthy until he left us. So I really did not believe, and I hadn't voiced it to anybody, but I didn't believe I would live to see 50. So it was kind of a hail Mary, if you will. I won't say that I believed I could heal when I started to try these different things. But I had never met anybody that gave me any kind of alternative perspective because I was so entrenched in the Western medicine world that it was just an accepted thing.

Julie Michelson (07:49):

It really was a very gradual healing, you know, I would fix one thing and I'd feel a little bit better and I'd fix another and I'd feel a little bit better. So it was, it was gradual, but I promised I would do everything I could and included everything I could, So I just kept going.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with "Dr. Al" Danenberg, Periodontist, Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Certified Primal Health Coach, ADAPT Trained Health Professional & Author of CRAZY-GOOD LIVING!

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-al-denenberg

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr Al Danenberg (10:09):

The studies are basically four weeks. They were designed differently, but they serve the same purpose and showed the same facts. And that is the subjects in the study did not, and could not brush or floss or cheat for four weeks. They were only allowed the experimental group was only allowed to eat a healthier diet that consisted of very low carbohydrates, no added sugars and a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts seeds, and basically good fats. The control group continued with their standard American diet eating, lots of carbs, lots of sugar and so on and so forth. Basically the entire group had active gum disease starting the program after four weeks without brushing and cleaning their mouth.

Dr Al Danenberg (14:27):

That's true. I'm here to scream my story. That's the story of how the gut, really the gut is actually the cause of almost every chronic disease that you can imagine. And if we can treat the gut appropriately, that means not only treat the damage in the gut, but put the food that your body needs into your body and remove the irritants, or at least avoid the irritants that are going to damage the gut. And there are other factors of damage to the gut It's not just what you eat. It's, you know, it's electromagnetic fields, it's chemicals. It's stress, it's poor exercise to over-exercise will damage the gut. Poor sleep habits will damage the gut. So there are a variety of things that will damage the gut. But if you can understand what's causing the damage and you can get control over that, you can control your life amazingly well without, without supplements and all kinds of gimmicks and gadgets that everybody wants to sell you.

Dr Al Danenberg (25:04):

Actually, dental plaque serves three main functions. It serves as a gatekeeper to actually allow minerals from the saliva, get into the root surface. So if there's any need for it to remineralized the tooth root surface, it can do that. Now, minerals, if you just have a toothpaste with added minerals in it, it has no value whatsoever. And you take supplements with minerals, probably no real value whatsoever, but we need to eat food that has the minerals that are bioactive, that gets absorbed into your blood system. And a lot of it gets deposited into your soul salivary glands. So when you salivate, which you do 24 hours a day, seven days a week, of course, different flows for different times of the day. This mineral, these minerals that are in the saliva can get into the root surface, but the plaque kind of distributes the minerals as is necessary.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Amber Korobkina a Bowen Practitioner, who recovered from a serious spinal injury

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/amber-korobkina

Highlights from today's episode include:

Amber Korobkina (16:18):

I've been quite frustrated by it because like some of our clients, when they came to us they were dreadfully addicted to painkillers that they knew weren't good for them, after a few Bowen treatments, we get them off the painkillers. They're doing grea

Amber Korobkina (27:47):

It's funny you would ask? because I was just talking to my step son about this today, about how I mean obviously yes, the sciatica, it's amazing to see how frozen shoulder, all of a sudden, when someone can lift their arm that was locked before all of those physical things are really, really cool. But I was talking today about mind, body Bowen and how doing a certain series of moves on the body can actually bring some crazy memories to surface things that people have solved in their brain because they been to therapy. But somehow that trauma is still locked in their body on a physical level somewhere else. And I mean, just the fact that even just giving their body that acknowledgement like, Oh yes, I do remember when I fell off the swing when I was six and my mum called me a cry baby, or, you know, sometimes there's an emotional thing attached with it.

Amber Korobkina (39:31):

Well, I just, I would like to encourage anyone, you know, if you've got an ailment of any type or even if you don't, you've got to try Bowen it's more impressive if you do have an ailment, because you will feel that the recovery. if you're looking for some sort of a technique to even just to help your family members, you don't have to go into business doing this. But anyone with aging parents or little kids that get bumps and scrapes, or, you know, it's so nice to have a tool you've always got your hands with you and that's really all you need to start the ball rolling on, on the healing. So do it.

About Amber Korobkina

Amber changed careers to become a Bowen practitioner after having recovered from a serious spinal injury. Having completed the Bowtech training from basic level to masters, Amber currently works as an instructor for the Bowen College of Canada, the only school recognized by the Canadian Examining board for Health Practitioners.

Although Amber is also a certified iridologist and has her degree in nutrition, she prefers to stick to the Bowen technique. “I love the simplicity of Bowen,” says Amber, “it’s amazing how little it takes to make such major changes in the body”.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Dr Larry Waldman  who is passionate about teaching mental health practitioners how to develop a successful practice and become an effective clinician.  I am also very interested in teaching parents to parent and instructing therapists to help parents raise responsible resilient kids.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/dr-larry-waldman

Highlights from today's episode include:

Dr. Larry Waldman (09:00):

So hypothetically let's say this child grew up in a home, which was chaotic. Let let's say the, the parents argued frequently. Maybe mother perhaps was depressed herself and so on. And so therefore this child grew up in an environment where at any moment at any time something could happen, you know a pot could be thrown across the room. Somebody could have a temper tantrum, a door might slam or, and so on. And so the child then came to view their world as a dangerous place. And as a place that that could change on a dime where they have no control at that they're insignificant and so on. Well, you can see if that's what this child learned, and by the way, given their life at that moment, that's not unrealistic. They have, an accurate view of what it was, what was going on, but what happens you see, as the child develops this life view and then carries it on into their adulthood.

Dr. Larry Waldman (16:28):

II've had many individuals who that I work with and so on. And, you know, and often I'll say that, you know, you're doing a good job of depression. you're staying up late, you're sleeping through the days. So you're mixing your days and nights up around, you're eating junk, You're not answering the phone. You're not socializing. When, you go out, you don't smile. You don't even brush your teeth. You know, you wear old clothes and so forth. You know, you look and act like you're depressed. So you're doing depression. I use behavioural psychology, particularly when I work with parents, because it's, it's the easiest, if you will, to comprehend and to implement.

Dr. Manon (23:21):

So, in a sense what I'm hearing you say is that it's good for the patient or the client to somehow be informed about the type of therapist that they're going to go to. It's like, you know, You're not going to ask a butcher what the right vegetables are to eat. It's not going to be the same thing. So you have to align with the type of therapy that makes that you feel resonates with you on some level, you really make a good point.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Elizabeth Yarnell who I has a virtual clinic where I help MS and other autoimmune sufferers heal through personalized anti-inflammatory diets and other natural protocols.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/Elizabeth-Yarnell

Highlights from today's episode include:

Elizabeth Yarnell (02:29):

I agree. I think that is maybe the biggest disservice that our medical community does to people is to take away their hope for a better future. But the truth is that the medical community is stymied when it comes to autoimmune diseases like MS And they don't know why they happen or how to really change their course. They just know that what's going to happen. If you get one of these autoimmune diagnoses, then basically you're looking at this downhill slide for the rest of your life, and you're going to get more and more symptoms and become maybe more and more, in pain or disabled, and that all they can offer you some really toxic treatments for MS They're pretty much all injectable, basically chemotherapy. And they all have some pretty dire side effects to each of them. So, and even when you take these medicinal therapies or these pharmaceutical therapies, they don't really even have good efficacy rates. So you're looking at me, I'm 20% improvement in this phase three clinical trial. Is that even worth it for like liver damage and brain damage and total system shut down?

Elizabeth Yarnell (07:37):

Well, I feel that Western medicine is looking in the wrong places. They're looking for answers....They have become so myopic where they just can focus on such a small piece of anything. So here's a great example. I broke my foot last weekend and I called up the orthopedic surgeon ......I'm like, I need to go see an orthopedist. Well, last year I broke my arm and they're like, Oh, well, who do you want to see? And I'm like, well, I want to see the same doctor that I saw when I broke my arm last year. And they said, well, he only sees arms. You have to go to some guy who only sees foot's feet.

Elizabeth Yarnell (15:21):

But beyond that, it's not only just in the medical profession, because it's, what's taught in medical schools that you can't believe anything you weren't taught in medical school and nothing that hasn't had a phase three placebo controlled gold standard trial. And really the more I learned about the human body, there are so many things that just don't work with the phase three placebo control trial with tons of people and everybody getting the same dosage, the same therapies. And in fact, in what I do, which is customized anti-inflammatory diets there there's no universal rules that would apply to everyone. Anyway, in fact, I've even tested a set of twins and found that their test results were radically different from each other. So, you know, if I could say the right diet for all ms. Patients is this, then I could write a book and get super rich, but that's just not how the human..........

Elizabeth Yarnell (38:48):

So I really believe that all of health comes down to inflammation and no matter what your diagnosis is or what your symptoms are, if inflammation is at the root of those problems, then we can work on reducing that inflammation and we are going to eliminating those symptoms. And that's really the whole thing my practice is all about.

About Elizabeth Yarnell

Elizabeth Yarnell is a board-certified traditional Naturopath who used her own diagnosis of multiple sclerosis as an incentive to find real solutions to improve the lives of people living with autoimmunity or chronic inflammatory issues. She is the director of the "Fight MS with Food" project and the author of the award-winning cookbook, "Glorious One-Pot Meals: A New Quick and Healthy Approach to Dutch Oven Cooking". She is a patented inventor and an expert in inflammation.

My mission is to bring hope to people suffering from MS and other autoimmune diseases so that they can learn how to successively manage their health to live robust and pain-free lives. I am passionate about whole-foods-based eating.

It's all about inflammation.

your journey as a healer : One night in 1999, two weeks before my 30th birthday, I went to sleep as usual and awoke blind in my right eye. In short order I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and told that I would likely be in a wheelchair by the time I turned 40. It was my then-fiancé who suggested that it might have something to do with my Diet Coke-Crystal Lite-Gummi Bears diet. That's when I started studying the link between what we eat and how we feel.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, chats with Anna Kowalska who guides women who are ready to birth their Highest Soul Level body of work, by aligning with their Soul Purpose and Divine Prosperity.

Listen to the full story today! https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/ Anna-Kowalska

Highlights from today's episode include:

Anna Kowalska (06:11):

So I'll tell you very specifically because the moment is very clear. In my mind, we were living in a beautiful $2 million house, we were renovating piece by piece, and about to renovate the master suite. So my soon to be husband and I were in a bathroom and he handed me over a toothbrush and I don't know what it was about the toothbrush. And since then, I am speculating that it's so symbolic. You know, when you, with somebody, you have to brush us together on a toothbrushes, like a symbolic. When you live somewhere, that's where your toothbrush stays. He handed me a toothbrush. And all of a sudden I reached my hand out and something on my back just went really tight. And I know what the stress feels like, right? Like when you're, when your shoulder blades are really tight, I know what it feels like that wasn't it. I literally felt like somebody took a rope and I felt the pieces of rope touching my back now in that moment, I was like, Oh my gosh, I'm about to get tied up. I'm about to get tied up.

Anna Kowalska (07:45):

So in that moment, I was like, I'm about to get tied up. I have to get out. And so that's the only thing I knew in a moment I have to get out. I knew that it took me a few more months. I didn't say anything to him. I didn't say I'm about to get tied up. I have to get out. I took the toothbrush and we continued, but I knew in that moment that it was over. And I knew that I had to take a different path. Now, later on, as I started to get into spirituality and start believing in angels, I grew up Catholic. So angels were the little cherups, you know, in a dome of a church

Anna Kowalska (12:40):

I wasn't able to share it. I think in a moment I couldn't really explain what was always going on. I really couldn't explain. I grew up in a very traditional family in a very traditional environment. You get married, you have kids. That's what happens in life. Right. And I love my mum very dearly, but when I was breaking up that relationship, she said, why don't you have a child, sometimes that fixes something.

Anna Kowalska (13:24):

Yeah. So in my worldview at a time, I really didn't know what's going on. I mean to a degree now that I think about it, I did think there was something wrong with me because why was I rejecting such a perfect life? I mean, I grew up, so like I said, I grew up in Poland in a communist country. We weren't poor, but we, it's not like we were a rich family. Right. So coming to America, we came back down to nothing. I mean, we each came with a suitcase and we had a family here, but you know, my family, my parents started from the ground up again. So all of a sudden I'm in this relationship that has given me a space to have all these things.

About Anna Kowalska

For as long as I remember I was chasing something in life. I never felt like  I was doing what I was meant to do.I was able to quickly manifest perfect jobs and excel at them. Ideal visions of my work and contribution would show up within weeks and sometimes days, after I declared them as desires. I was offered positions, on regular bases. Nothing felt fulfilling. As if the desire, the vision I was creating belonged to somebody else.

I began questioning myself and my desires, “will I ever know what satisfaction feels like?”.

In my mid twenties I enjoyed over a decade of success in real estate and mortgage industries, but I felt restless. My heart and soul kept waking me up in the middle of the night with a deep hunger.

I heard a calling to venture out into a completely new area of expertise. But I had no idea what it was.

My body led me to learn about holistic nutrition and this began my career in the personal growth/coaching industry.

I stumbled through many aspects of building a coaching business. In between my ebbs and flows, I organized events, helped publish books, built funnels, ran marketing campaigns. There were parts of my work and life that felt good, satisfying, enjoyable, but not fulfilling or satisfying, or exciting.

It wasn’t until my first Hand Analysis, that I finally started to feel hopeful about my work and my role in the world. Armed with a map that was in my hands, at all times, I started to take steps to build a fulfilling, soul satisfying life and contribute to the world in a way that inspires me, sparks me up, makes me jump out of bed.
